Has anyone here removed those bulky overflow boxes inside the larger “reef ready” Aquariums?
I own a Marineland 150 tall and a Aqueon 210

They’re relatively easy to remove with a PVC cable saw and a few single edge razor blades. Just make sure to not damage the silicone holding the glass panels together.

What do you mean, remove and replace? Or get rid of?
Get rid of the dang things...they make aquascaping around Them a pain

Thats what I’m afraid of...I’m trying to figure out how to move a 210...its heavy even w/o the water..
i’ll look into the cable saw

Here you go. This is what I followed when I removed duals in my 120G.

Depending on what was used to secure them it may be quick and easy or not so quick. If they are just attached using silicone then it should be quick. If they used glue as well, not so quick (you can guess which one my tank had lol) Razor blades did absolutely nothing at all for me. When you cut them out, leave about inch of their silicone above the bottom, that way you dont run a chance of cutting too much off. When you add sand, that extra silicone wont be noticeable.

No worries and good luck with rebuild and this project if you take it on. It just takes a bit of time to do, but it is pretty straight forward. I never did anything like this before, so if I could do it without issues, everyone else can too haha
