I'm installing a new tank to my old stand. I think the last owner used these tall pieces as light supports and I think I can remove them and conserve the strength of the stand. I'm installing a bean animal to the overflow box you can kinda see between the tall pieces, and the tall pieces are in the way of the new plumbing. What do y'all think?

I agree, doesn't look structural by any means not that it hurts the strength at all. Does the front of the stand have any center supports?

Shouldn't be a problem removing it then:) Good luck with the new tank! Have a build thread for it??

It looks like there is a center support in the back as well were you looking to pull that out too or just the two taller pieces?? And plumbing is my favourite part!!

Just the taller pieces. Hmm, need to look at my drawing again.

Taller pieces you're still okay to get rid of but I'd try and avoid removing the center brace which it looks like in your drawing you won't be removing. Looks like a good plan
