A friends tank.....trying to have it come back from bad husbandry....most corals dead, just a nem and zoa's left, can aptasia's help in eating up nutrients.. There all on his rocks, W/C's being done, but would they help a bit or not at all. Before we go in with the X and a wand. TIA...

Kill the all! But be careful with that X turn off all power heads for a little
 
No they will actually add to it once they start dieing off. Ap X works by sealing the mouth of the anemone closed to kill it. Anything that dies will add to bio load. I’d recommend a few 50/50 water changes. Maybe do as I did and add a oversized skimmer. My skimmer is rated for a 200gallon and on my 55 lol.
