good forbid anyone need this but I learned it so I'll pass it on. I recently made a huge mistake and used latex instead of silicon on a sump, should have double checked, and found the need to remove it from water column as I didn't have the cash to do insesent water changes till it was gone. Obviously turn the skimmer up to a really wet skim to remove even the heaviest oils and keep constant slow water change rolling. The next thing you will need is a pair of trouser socks. Place trouser sick around the bottom of overflow pipe and secure with rubber band. Same place you would have a filter Sock. The trouser sock will become fuzzy with a clear slime. Rinse every hour or two very thoroughly until all slime is gone and you can feel the texture of fabric again. Trouser process till no slime builds up anymore and turn skimmer back to normal tuning. If you use a filter sock you can just use it instead of trouser sock; just rinse and repeat the same way as with trouser sock.

Did you run extra GAC? Or do you feel there isn't a need?

Am running extra carbon not sure what gac stands for? Although it really doesn't seem to die any good but wanted to make sure I got any other chemicals out. Seems it was truly noon toxic had to make it harder for the fish to breath because it thickens the water. Not noticeable to touch but definitely when mechanical filtration is applied.

GAC is Granular Activated Carbon. So your running extra carbon answered my question, thanks!

Figured that's what it was but didn't want to assume.
