Have some red mushrooms that are taking over the tank slowly

I use bone cutters to cut the rock underneath the coral, or if it is too hard, remove the rock from the tank and use a hammer and chisel.

I’ve had the same question and embarrassed to say I hadn’t thought of this. I’ve got a successful mixed reef with green hairy mushrooms taking over and touching base of a very nice acro colony. Gonna try this!
