Removing recirculating lifereef skimmer and CO2 scrubber combination

Looking to remove the recirculating component to my lifereef skimmer and co2 scrubber due to the high humidity in the tubes which turns the media into near concrete in a short time.

The tubing is as follows:

Skimmer lid > intake to phosban reactor using soda lime media > output from reactor to venturi on the skimmer.

The venturi is what pulls the air through the reactor media and, prior to that, through the skimmer lid?

Thinking I just have to disconnect the tubing that connects the skimmer lid to the media reactor to un-recirculate it?

If you can, run a air line to your co2 reactor out side before removing everything and see if it stops it from hardening up

I am planning to run it this way as well, one canister before the media. Recirculating setup. However, if I notice the moisture too much of an issue I can still run a line outside, but it is about 20' away from the tank, not sure if this would pose an issue. 7/16" hose ID.

I also may put some filter floss in the moisture trap compartment as well. Gotta stop sayin Moist.. lol

I disconnected it from recirculation a while back but haven't updated this thread. Media stays very dry. No issues at all. Change it out around 2-3 weeks.

That would be an issue to me, my media lasts 2-3 months before change

That is a lot nicer. I will probably reconnect it with a moisture trap after I move the tank again to see if it lasts longer and stays as dry. Beforehand the media would just be like cement in the reactor from the amount of accumulated moisture that it made it extremely difficult to even remove it, lol.
