Hello all. I am turning a 33 long into a sump and have a couple lights with goosenecks. Problem is the base of the goosenecks are not wide enough to go over the plastic trim of the 33 long. Wondering what your opinions are regarding removing 2 sections of the top plastic trim to get to bare glass to attach the lights. Each section would be no more than 1 1/2” wide. My concern is affecting the structural integrity of the tank and setting myself up for a leak down the road.

I would reccomend against it since like you stated would be affecting the structual integrity of the tank.

Yeah, that’s what I figured. Guess I just needed to hear someone else tell me that! Back to the drawing board. Thanks!
