Hi everybody. Wanted to ask some advice on upgrading my current sump.

Right now I have a 75G Aqueon/All-Glass Megaflow tank with the matching wood stand.

Underneath I have a 20G long tank with DIY acrylic baffles and a sub par design (first try, I thought I did great lol).

It works ok and the flow is great but over the last year or so two baffles have come loose, one has cracked and I have realized/ been informed repeatedly of my poor choice in using acrylic.

So, how do I change out my sump?

Can a 20g long be pulled out (without it being broken) from the underneath without taking the display tank down?

Looking at it, doesn't look like it would fit and I really don't want to break down my display. Anyone been through this and have any advice, I would greatly appreciate it :)

I guess to piggy back off the first issue, how would I then get a bigger better sump under there?

Something tells me an under tank frag tank is in my future and my sump area will have to find a new area/be relocated. Lol

That's going to be a tight squeeze trying to get it out of the front if its even possible. You can try getting a Rubbermaid stock tank and draining the tank down Half way and using furniture sliders to move the tank off the wall I have seen it done on some larger tanks with success. Hope that helps

So I took some more measurements and I think I'm up that creek :( Looks to be off by two inches. So, unless someone has accomplished this feat...... Looks like I need some new furniture to house a new sump and pull out the baffles to make the current sump a frag tank. I guess extending/increasing my water column isn't a bad idea anyways, right?

Here ya go, have you seen this? Marc did an upgrade, and showed how he was able to stuff this big ol sump into a very tight space.

I had not seen that so thanks for sharing. Not sure I'm quite up to that level of work but its good to know I could do it with some extra $.
