I've had my eye on getting a Pom Pom Crab for my tank. I was checking out DD today and found one that I had to have! I am setting up a separate QT from the one that I have my fish in. I also purchased a trio of Halloween hermit crabs and Chaeto!

The anemone's that it carries are different colors. This is the first one that I've seen like this!

They will be here next Tuesday!

As soon as I released the Pom Pom it headed for one of the Halloween hermits to hitchhike!

My ammonia has been @ 0ppm for a week now. Nitrites were @ 2ppm and Nitrates @ 20ppm a week ago. I blew a light dusting of brown algae off of my rocks tonight and cleaned some off of my glass. The raw shrimp that I placed in the tank is still there but deteriorating very quickly. Should I wait until all of my parameters are at zero to do an ammonia test or can I go ahead and do that now?

Ammonia 0ppm
Nitrite .50ppm
Nitrate 10ppm
Phosphates .19ppm

So my parameters are just about there! I plan on doing a 10g water change today!

Ammonia 0ppm
Nitrite 0ppm
Nitrate 0-5ppm (closer to 0, but just a bit darker shade of yellow)
Phosphates .08

I'm just dealing with some health issues for my small Firefish, was just about to start treating for Ich and he seems to have possibly developed a bacterial infection (fin rot) on his tail. Will be watching him closely and developing a treatment plan! I'm planning on doing TTM for the prophylactic Ich treatment

My order from IPSF will arrive on Wednesday. After I get them acclimated to the tank and see how they are all doing I will add my Pom Pom & Halloween Hermits.

I had so much fun yesterday getting all of the new critters placed in my tank from IPSF! The hermit crabs were like a bunch of little kids who have been cooped up way to long. I saw several of them change shells more than once.

I started TTM for my Firefish yesterday, I will also be using Kanaplex as the smaller fish has a bit of a raggy tail! Next fish will be started with TTM & Prazi at the beginning. Ready to have them in my tank!

Sad day! I lost one of my Halloween hermits today. I really don't know why. It was in my sump with plenty to eat. I tested for copper, but I was pretty sure that there wasn't any in my system. It was 0.0! I've been watching it pretty close because it hadn't been moving very much. Everything else seems to be doing well!

My new corals! Zoa's, Paly's, Blue Sympodium Sp., Clove Polyps and GSP! I can't remember all of the names, but hopefully I will get it figured out!

I'm afraid that I got a couple of the Paly's and Zoa's mixed up, so I will need to get an idea before placing them. I have the names of the 3 Paly's I just can't remember which is which. Armor of God, Ding Dang & Mind Blowing Paly! When I can get them under better lighting where we can see their colors hopefully some of our experts here can help me out!

Great tank and additions! I see the "no coral" thing didn't last long at all lol. I wouldn't be able to hold out either though. I'm excited to see how this all comes together after some growing out! It's looking great though!

Thanks!!! Haha! Nope, when I got the Neptune system that gave me the nudge that I needed, I was pretty close anyway! It's just not a SW tank without some coral IMO. I'm just glad that my husband was with me when I bought all the coral, I was about to stop and he picked something out and paid for everything, even when he saw how much it cost, without batting an eye! I don't think he'll offer to take me to the SW stores again, well not for awhile anyway! LOL He's a great guy and I wouldn't be able to do this without his support!
It will be a few weeks before the coral go into the tank, so that's giving me time to figure out where I want them!!!

Hi Rene! Glad to see you back up and going again. Now about this fowlr for a year bit...oh wait never mind! Just hard to resist coral in a SW tank isn't it.
