Reno 180

Hi. I have been lurking around the forums quite a bit, just never participated until now. I have been reefing for about 12 years. Got my first bit of live rock from a friend and my obsession grew from there. I still have that rock and some of the first corals I put in the tank (a euphyllia, and a tubinaria) that have grown considerably. Overall, I'd say it's an sps dominated, with a good mix of lps, zoas, a couple gorgonians, a couple chalice, a couple acans, and a couple clams. Most of the rock is fresh from florida so it came with all kinds of halimeda, sponges, corals, and good stuff. All the fish I have, I've had for five years or less. Yellow tang, lyretail anthias, christmas wrasse, 6 chromis, orange stripe goby, peppermint shrimp, cleaner shrimp, and a spiny urchin that came on some LR. The tank is a 180 gallon Elite with dual overflows. The plumbing is home-built by me. The sump is a cpr aquatics wet-dry filter with dual protein skimmers and a home built refugium plumbed into it. The refugium is fed by one of the overflows. I have some halimeda and some red macroalgae growing in the refugium, which flows into the last chamber in the sump. The return pump is an external reeflo snapper, wide open. The tank also has the hydor ATO and wave maker and the digital aquatics reefkeeper controller as well as a JBJ arctica chiller. Lighting is from (2) 250 watt cayman sun MH's. I would love to share some pics if I could fugure out how to do it. If anybody could steer me in the riggt direction, that would be great. I don't get a lot of feedback here from my wife, haha. I would love to chat with some of you folks who share the same affinity for the hobby as I do.
Welcome to the community, great folks here, helpful and friendly- enjoy!

Welcoming to R2R @AquaScott !

And we just love pictures of fish tanks so keep them coming! Or start a build thread as well, with pictures!
Thank you! I figured as much because I love seeing the pics of everyone's tanks and animals too. I wish I would've taken more pics during the build, but I will try to start one with what I got.

All the pictures are great. Thanks for sharing. What do you house in your refugium?

EDIT: never mind. Just reread your first post :)
I had chaeto tumbling and halimeda. Chaeto did not last/grow, but i noticed a little red macro algae growing in a corner so i cultivated that. Now the red stuff tumbles amd grows pretty well.

Welcome to the family! Beautiful reef!
