Repairing glass ...possible in this case?

Hi guys, just bought a small 45l (13g) tank in order to make a DIY sump.

Arrived broken as in photo.

You think is fixable if I silicon in the inside a piece of 4mm acrylic big like the internal wall??

I would use glass for the internal wall not acrylic. Silicone does not stick to acrylic very good.
