Has anyone done this with a larger tank? Would it be worth it?

Big job for sure, thing is can you get the frames off? How about sourcing the glass?
On the other hand, My 180 cost just about a grand. so a 300gl tank?

Im looking into the cost of the glass now. I can get the top brace off, maybe not in one piece, but i was thinking i could euro brace it if not.

I'd think the most important part of the frame is the front to back supports top & bottom. And the corners This keeps the glass from bowing & separating from the pressure/weight pushing outward. If it breaks along the rim part that "could" be ok with extra silicone .

The braces can come off it’s just a pain in the you know what haha. I replaced a side panel on my 180 tall a few months ago I buddy owns a glass company (windshield and what not) cost me $60 for 3/4” non tempered replacement. I ended up taking the entire tank apart and re building the entire tank just to make sure everything way 100%. For the cost of a new tank... it’s a much better idea to get a replacement the cost of a few tubes of silicone and the glass is far less than the thousands of buying a new tank haha! You just need a few friends to help! And clamps!

Yeah, after doing more research, it seems doable.

It absolutely is! I ton of people are very negative about resealing because they don’t fully understand it haha. If you need any pointers I’m happy to help! I’m going to make a how to video within the next few weeks (just picked up another 120 that needs a reseal)
