I cam across these acrylic devices that you put in place of filter socks. Problem is no one in the states appear to make them. Does anyone work with acrylic that could possible do something like this?

I believe that you put whatever media you want into a mesh bag and then put it in the cup

I don't see how they replace a 200micron filter sock. I don't see a real need for these for those running media reactors. It looks like it will make mesh bags work more efficiently however

But what "replaces" the sock? I don't see how the fine stuff i.e. Detritus, gets filtered out. It looks like a great place to put your media bag, but idk about filtering anything. I prefer old fashioned reusable socks. Cheap

its probably geared more for the people that don't want to use socks at all.
this is off the website : Directions: Simple place Filter Media Cup into your filter tray, and fill with desired filter media. To clean just replace your filter media

Anyone find actual acrylic ones? The one's in that URL use Polypropylene, aka Tupperware material. I'm looking for something a little more substantial like the ones in the OP's photo. @Crixus any luck on your end?

Nothing yet, although I have some guys that would make it.

Check out 302 Aquatics on Facebook. I just ordered one and it's acrylic and works good.

I have made my version with the help of 3" PVC pipe and in the bottom fitted with drain cap so that it stands flat. Water runs down through the media without any blockage. Filled it with left over ceramic bio balls and cheap ceramic rings.
Additionally running a small canister filter with sponge inside and its is feeded with Jecod DC1200 pump running at half speed .

I bought some of the acrylic ones from a seller in Britain and I love them. Bought a 10 pound box of Polly fill for 30 bucks that will last for ever i think . Big fan

That's good to know. I really hope they make 7" filter cups...
302 Aquatics has 7" and 10"
I wish they would have rounded the edges though as when I stick my hand in I get all cut up. Also needs more holes. Project for me in the near future. [emoji10]

That's good to know, thanks! I guess I should give them a call to check it out... I hope they're compatible with my filter sock silencer...
