Alright... I've bought two pumps to replace this one since my HOB reef octopus (cannot find product name anywhere) skimmer stopped working. The pump was electrocuting the water after a bleach bath. I bought the AQ-1000s and the adapter/threaded piece I need to go to the skimmer is missing in this pump and cannot be removed from the old OTP-1000.

Anyone know of a direct replacement pump for this? Or have a cheap but good HOB skimmer I can buy used for my QT?

This stuff is infuriating. $110 in replacement pumps later grrrr

The right connection to the skimmer in the picture is the piece in question -- none of the pumps have the piece that tightens in to that.

Call coralvue looks like the classic 1000

@4FordFamily did you ever find a satisfactory replacement pump? I emailed RO but haven't heard a response. I have the exact same issue 2 years later. What did you finally do?

I never did find a pump, the one I bought didn't fit and I gave up. Sorry I am not more help, I am sure it can be done though I just wasn't smart or patient enough.

Thanks! You've already helped to save me from making the same mistake. I was about to buy the AQ1000 in hopes it might work. Appreciate the information. Think I'll just get a newer skimmer and maybe go ahead and buy a replacement pump now for use later on.

Well, in that case -- glad to help! :D
