I got a used Varios6 that doesn't have the top part of the union with the barbed fitting. CoralVue wants $35 for those two parts (!!!). Do I have to fork it over or can I find these somewhere else?

Try the BRS website and see if they have any fittings that might work as replacements. You might find something to string together.
