Do I need Actual apex probes or can I use other brands like BRS? I just got an apex system used and the red and blue probe have been dry for a long time. I’m also guessing there is no way to revive them

Well bulkreefsupply use to sell a BRS branded probes for the apex. Idk of they still do since they are one company now. But that answers your question. No you should be fine with other brand named probes like

BRS probes (if still available)
Milwaukee
GHL higher quality but do not know if there connectors are the same.
Just check Amazon.com and if you have prime just return them if they do not work for ya.
