I would check with Coralvue if their lower tiered, cheaper aquatrance 2000s pump will fit. Ive got tons of those running out in the field on reg reef octo skimmers and they are super reliable and dont have any metal screws to rust on them.I’d like to consider alternatives if possible since the screws rusted on mine.

Yep, I replaced my OEM reef octopus pump on my NWB 150 with a aquatrance pump from coralvue. OEM was old and wasn't spinning the same. The aquatrance pump is WAY better pump. After the exchange, it became a new skimmer!
Yeah the aquatrance are tiered lower than the bubble blaster, but the 2000s is no slouch of a pump and with gate valve adjustment I doubt you'll see much impact in performance at all. Not to mention nothing to rust on the pump and it's cheaper in general.It's funny that CoralVue says the Aquatrance would be a step down And underpowered.
