My Blueline 70 pump is starting to whine. I've had it for about 10 years and it has worked flawless. Need to purchase a replacement pump. Just looking for suggestions. I see the panworld is the same pump. Should I just purchase another Blueline 70 or does anyone have a better pump in mind.

You may be able to replace some bearings and keep your current pump running another 10 years. I would reach out to the manufacturer.

I have had my Blueline 50 for over 12yrs and was with the other person for a while too. Bought it used. Still running strong. I just bought a replacement Blueline 100 just in case since it is so old. I wanted a bit more power going upstairs to the main tank.
Aquacave has reasonable pricing on pumps.

i am installing a basement sump for my 150 gallon tank in the living room upstairs. I was looking at the Blueline W70HD or W100HD. I have about six 90 degree turns and 15’ of vertical distance from pump to top of aquarium. What pump do you recommend?

Blueline 70 is a rebadged PanWorld 200. Have you cleaned it? Should last more than 10 years. Iwaki make comparable magnetic drive pumps.

Got a Blueline 70 running since 2006. I cleaned the impeller and housing in 2015. Running strong and quiet but gonna clean it again soon. Preventive maintenance is important. The noise could be from the impeller housing.

Try cleaning it. Mine get quieter when I clean them. However, if it got sand/debris in it, then it might not ever be super quiet again - I have one that is all scratched up inside, so I use it in the mixing station.

There really is no replacing them. If you need a pump like that, then just get another one, or suitable sized Iwaki.

As for basement sumps, if you can use a PanWorld 150 (blueline 55, I think) then the wattage is much less. They have pretty nice head height and flow.

I have a Blueline 55 running from my basement to my main floor tank. Lower flow, but I am okay with that. Been running over 14 years and got it used. I cleaned it last a couple years ago.

I use a PanWorld 150PS from my basement sump to my 180. Goes up about 15 feet. Mine has only been in service for a couple years, because I had a Little Giant pump that finally went bad after about 15 years. But going forward, I will he staying with PanWorld. For AC pumps, they are very efficient.
