I currently have a Super Reef Octopus XP 3000 Ext cone skimmer. I was wondering if I can replace the original bubble blaster pump with one of the new controllable DC pumps. If that is possible which one should i get and do I have to modify any plumbing to make this work? Has anybody done this switch with their skimmer? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Jay

I think it should be doable. The fittings should thread off of both pumps so you can interchange them if necessary. Try reaching out to coralvue they have great customer service and should be able to help you out.

I wonder if by adding the better pump could it be used on a bigger tank or handle a even bigger bio load
