All right so I’m about to plumb out my 180, the tank came factory dual overflows. Each overflow is drilled 1” with Durso stand pipe and drilled 3/4” with return. Gonna full siphon through the 1” holes and emergency drain the 3/4” holes. Then gonna run to 3/4” lines over the back of the tank as returns.

- How difficult is it to dial (gate valves) in the two drains? I’m starting to read it’s difficult with 2 herbies.

- Once they are both dialed in, is it a constant adjustment or will it just run well until something is changed?

I just put a herbie on an eshopps pf-1200 with the dual drains...one herbie was easy to dial in with the gate valve. Id never have that fine of an adjustment with a ball valve. Mine has stayed tuned and starts back up and goes full siphon even after a power outage without adjustment. I dont think you have to do anything until something changes You may have to play with standpipe heights a bit to get dialed in.

I would switch up your plan however and use the 3/4 for drains and 1 inch for emergency. The drain will be full siphon...but the emergency may not go full siphon so you want it to be able to handle everything.

My herbie drain needs to be tweaked maybe once every week or two, just a very tiny amount.
I would guess that doing 2 herbies would be challenging.
But I'm sure there are many doing it.
