Anyone else experience this? I'm concerned my socks might be holding on to stuff from my washing machine?

I flip them inside out and put them in the washer with bleach. When the bleach cycle is done I wash them again. Then I take them out and let them air dry for 2 days before putting them in the tank. Does anyone else have a skimmer go crazy after replacing filter socks?

If you'll do a search, many people have this issue.

When I was using socks I had this same issue, I found that doing a final soak and rinse of the cleaned socks in RO / DI water right before using helped prevent skimmer from going nuts.

I don't have this issue but I add an extra step. After my socks dry out for a couple of days I soak them in a bucket of RODI with prime/amquel to remove any residuals. After soaking for 2 days in that I air dry them again and put straight into my sump without any skimmer issues.
