My current rock layout is not ideal, so am looking to build a new scape and then swap out the old rock with the new scape how is the best way to do this woth out too much imbalance in my system? My system is only 7 months old. I have around 40lbs rock and matrix in my sump if that helps for the bio load as i take out rocks and put in new. I like to do it in 2 moves one section then the other.

Do you have a sump? If big enough add the rocks in there for a couple of months. This gives the new rock enough time to have biofilm before your lights starts hammering it.

Be honest nothing work got busy fast since this post. but I think am build all my new scape and use my big 150 gal water holding tank and plump it in to my system and let them soak for about 2 months then do the swap. So they build up good bacteria. And then in june when i take a time of work for summer for the family put them all in DP.. Thats the new plan.
