Hey All

Question to throw out there. Currently I have rock that was in my aquarium since day one. I purchased some new rock that has been soaking for months. I would like to replace the old with the new. Will this cause any problems? Also I have tons of brittle stars anyone know of a good way to get them out of the old rock so I can get them in the new rock?

can I ask why you are replacing the rock?is it a phosphate issue or are ya just redecorating.i wouldn't replace all the rock at once.your gonna lose a lot of beneficial bacteria and probably have a mini cycling problem.

Has the new rock been soaking? Or cycling? If you cycled the new rock, it would be ok. I would not do all in one day maybe do about 1/4 of it at a time spread over a few weeks. How much rock ate you talking? And why are you replacing it? As far as the stars, I'm not really sure.

Thanks for the replies. The reason for replacing is redecorating and getting a better layout. When I originally purchased my coral they were smaller size wise. Now that everything has matured and grown a lot need some additional room. I tried to use what I currently have and difficult to work with and oddly shaped.
