I have stumbled upon about 400 pounds of a mixture of rock that I have bleached and cleaned. Some pieces are 30+ pounds, some are huge pieces of coral skeletons, it is some amazing rock. I am going to put them together in large structures. I currently have about 150 pounds of rock in the system spread out among the display and refugium.

What are recommendations on replacing the rock structures I create with the rock in the system? The plan would be to take out 1 piece of old and put in a new structure. Not all at once, but over the course of weeks or months. What I have currently is 50ish pounds of rubble pieces (golf ball to baseball sized) in the refugium, and four very large structures in the display that are each 25+ pounds, not connected individually but four large pieces. I could keep all the rock in the refugium so there would be 125 pounds of old rock and the bacteria along with it at all times

Is there anything I am missing logistically or other recommendations that have seen positive results? I don't have any specific time frame that I want to be finished, but I know I can do better with the aquascape now that I have a ton of rock to work with.

The more rocks the merrier and everyone will be happier and comfortable with their home. Also the ecosystem in the tank will thrive with the addition of more rocks. If you have lots of fish and corals it's a win, win. My display is filled with rocks along with my sump. I say go for it.
