I have a Bubble Master 250 with the 2 sicce pumps.
Would it be possible to replace them with the askoll pump?
Would it be a good fit for the BM 250 body?

I think you could do it but you would need to keep the askoll a bit restricted. If you ran it at 70-75scfh i believe it would work just fine. You'll have to retro fit the pump on though. I have put them on swc200 bodies and ER250 bodies and they work well if you set them up right. On that skimmer, plug one hole and just use the other. It may be restricted enough stock to where you need it to be. Only problem is if its to restricted you would have to plug both holes and drill the body.

I was thinking about plugging both holes, then drill the body.
That way, I could use a union connection.

Is there any other pump that would work better for this size body?
How about cheaper?

You could pry get a bb pump to use, could drill it or use the holes. If you get an askoll and drill it be careful as the askoll will overpower that body.

I was in your shoes as well, but with a different skimmer body. I figured by the time I purchased a pump took the risk and drilled the body and still lost efficiency, it just wasnt worth it. I sold my body and put the money towards a whole new skimmer. After seeing everyone retro fitting pumps to my old body I am glad I didnt try and cut a corner and save $100 bucks and get much less performance along with the risk of drilling. Just a thought.

Also, I bet a BM 250 body would bring a pretty good amount.

Yeah, I've wanted to just bite the bullet and buy a new skimmer.
I'd be happy with a SWC 250A, but I'd rather have the askoll cone.
atm money's tight.
