Had a 20g IM step down nano. My son used the wrong tool and scratched it beyond repair, so I cut the overflow insert away from the back and glued it into the back of a 25g bow front I picked up for $80 at Petsmart. Takes up the same room on the stand and allows me to use the same equipment. Because it’s glass I won’t have to worry about scratches.

Love it! Question for you though, unrelated. Do you notice any negative effects of having the tank right in front of a window? Increased algae growth on the outside panels or anything?

We haven't. Because this is the northern face of the house, we don't get any direct sunlight through that window. Additionally, the back is black, and doesn't allow any light through it. We have another tank near a window on the southern facing, and before installing it, we painted it black. I had to let the silicone set overnight, and because the insert doesn't cover the entire back panel, I will paint the back of this one as well. I will post more pics, hopefully later this evening, when everything is back in!
