Hi everyone, my blue tang has been doing really well in the tank for 5 months. However ever since i introduced another clown which i bought from a LFS, the blue tang started getting these white spots rapidly.
As i do not have a quarantine tank for now.. would there be any solutions that can treat it without creating stressing on the blue tang and corals. :(

Looks like Ich. Since you already have him isolated it would be easy to remove him after setting up your QT tank. Treat the clown as well and leave your display without fish for 76 days. Don't bother with medications that claim to be reef safe. Only medications that work are copper and chloroquine phosphate. In your case, it is recommended not to use chloroquine phosphate on hippo tangs.
Read all the stickies up top for some excellent info in treating, setting up your hospital or QT tank, etc.

Is it in the same tank as the clownfish that has the brook from the other thread? If so, as mentioned earlier all fish in the same tank will be infected and should be treated all accordingly.
Best of luck.
Yup:( thank you!

Thank you:)!

That looks like a very serious ich infestation and I agree with akwym and Ngoodermuth. Good luck!

Excellent advice here! You are in good hands with these guys. I just want to stress, that the ich infestation looks serious. I strongly suggest investing in a QT asap and treating those fish.

I'm in the camp of leaving the fish in the display tank and if eating will likely get over it. But no new fish for three months and even than tangs are ick magnets.
