I decided to totally rescape my tank. (50g)
So I purchased some “Real Reef” live rock from my LFS that’s been in their tank for about a month.
-Drove 5 minutes home without any water but rocks were still wet.
-I have some live rock from an established tank sitting in my sump about 20lbs.

Should I be worried of an ammonia spike? I have some really nice acros that I’m worried about.

Really would need to know a little more about the tank, the amount of rock in it already and the amount added. It sounds like it is a cycled tank with livestock. There is risk to your current livestock, but one would need more info to quantify that risk. In general, I would definitely cure any like rock before adding to an established tank. I would think of it like a quarantine to soak it in a bucket with heat and flow. You might find a mantis shrimp or Aiptasia which would be easier to deal with in the bucket.

That all said, if it is a small amount of rock and you know the source well, you probably will not have much die off and it may work out.
