Hi all,

I cannot seem to find a consistent answer to my question on if I can reuse my QT tank after it’s gone through a Prazi and Copper treatment or if I need to start from the beginning again. If I am able to reuse it, if there’s anything I need to do prior to adding another round of fish to it please feel free to let me know!

Thanks!

If youre referring to using old/existing water- do a water change and re-dose the copper to therapeutic level 2.25-2.5 and start quarantine again.

Like do I have to empty it completely or just do a water change, add any filter media for awhile, and/or change the bio media and build it up again

If you moved fish out of this current quarantine run into your display, your display now has anything that the QT might have had in it, so from a bio security standpoint, there is no need to start the QT over. If the water quality of the QT isn't up to snuff, you can do water changes. The only time I strip down and sterilize a QT is when the tank had uncontrolled fish loss from an unknown cause.

Leaving the bio filter operational in the QT for the next batch of fish is helpful IMO.
