Anyone else using RC salt getting a brown residue after mixing the salt? I note that I am not mixing the entire bucket.

I have never gotten any brown color after mixing, however I have had white residue on the barrel walls from time to time. Some one told me the cause of this is probably my water so I changed all filters resulting in the absence of residue.

Another vote for yes. I get the brown residue for both RC and IO. I talked with the rep at a recent show and they said that it comes from the material used. If they went with a different material that did not produce the brown residue, it would drive up the cost.

Yep, which is why I switched away from it. I've heard that if you mix it slower it doesn't do it as bad. Tropic Marin Pro and Bio-actif for me now!

Never seen any brown, but have noticed a white residue..Dont think it's an issue, just have to spray out whatever your using for mixing.

I agree as well that the brown residue is not an issue. It's actually good for me because it makes me scrub/clean my mixing tub.

I normally get the powdery dry stuff and then started noticing a foam looking substance. After this, I've bought Tropic Marine to try after I finish out the bucket of RC. However, not sure i'll stick with TMP due to the price tag.

My problem with it are a couple things. First, whatever is not mixing and bonding with the plastic is not going into the tank where it's supposed to. Second, it's not as simple as washing out the mix bucket because you're forgetting all the other things in your tank that overtime will get coated with this gunk, pumps, etc...
