Hi all,

First of all I want to apologize for my awful english, its not my first language, that being said, let me get to my question...

When you have a quarantine tank to prepare new inhabitants for the display tank, and use it with 2 fishes for 11 days (treating the quarantine tank with ichattack and anti stress) and on the 12th day you get new fishes, would you recommend to restart the quarantine proccess with the 4 fishes or send the 2 old ones to the display tank? They look good with no visible symptoms of anything...

Thank you for your advise!

Restart treatment and abort ich attack altogether, as it won't help keep ich, velvet, or any other parasite out of your system, unfortunately. Try copper or CP :)

But anything that is effective will need to be restarted for a full 30 days.

I would restart, I would also use TTM, copper or chloroquine to treat for ich (the copper and chloroquine would also address velvet, also certain species can have trouble with one or the other so care must be used to pick which one)
I don't believe ich attack is sufficient

And I would also add a deworming with some form of praziquentel, like prazipro or API General cure.

The fishes doesnt show any ich signs, its only used as preventive way
Even without visible symptoms they may still be carriers for disease and parasites, so if you want to eliminate the risk of the diseases later affecting your tank, then restart quarantine and use effective meds.

It's the age old debate about observation versus treatment. As others have noted, ich and other parasites can 'hide' on a symptom free fish. While I'd suggest observation can be an effective approach to QT, 11 days is not nearly enough time. When using observation, I typically hold fish in QT for at least 2 months. Also, any new additions to the QT tank re-starts the clock.

BTW, your English is good - better than many of the posts I see from native speakers.
