I am seriously about to lose it with this tank. About 4 ago I had nasty crash that took out my almost my entire tank... (Chiller malfunctioned, the whole tank ran hot, you know the rest) I tried to restart it then, I installed a new AC in the house and one in the fish room itself, cleaned it out as best I could and just lost interest as the year went on. Wife, kids, life in general just let it go but I have been keeping the lights on, the levels checked and it topped off.

I didn't even notice the red Planaria when it first started, no one hardly looked a the thing. They have gone nuts in this tank thriving in every square inch of it as well as the Keyna trees that made it through the meltdown.

I want to get rid of the Kenya trees and the Planaria but I am about spent before I even start this go around. I need to get the pest out and get the tank back to a clean slate or at least as close to it before I can get back into really giving two flips. What would you do?

1st Good on You for wanting to restart ! The tank doesn't look bad at all ! I like the aquascape & looks like an in wall build . also some real nice looking fish. I would think your lfs who is a businessman would like to take the Kenya tree for trade. He can make $$ selling these hardy corals to Folks just starting out. Give the bed a good vacuum. Sit back & see the tank transform. As for the flat worms, I guess you would have to treat the whole tank. Let us know how it goes.

The wife went in on a Kenya Tree harvest tonight. She pulled them all out as well as the green glob. LOL.

I have the refugium running and hope it will start to control the nutrient problem. The Kenya trees are not the worst of my problems as the flatworms are. I have a couple more fish coming this week to try and combat them naturally. I was really hoping to find some fish that would get them down to manageable levels and then nuke the tank to finish them off. Right now I am afraid to kill them all off because of the poison they put off while dying.

Welcome to R2R @reefmann !

It doesn’t look that bad. Just get ya hands in and pull out what you don’t like, scrape the glass....

Or buy a new tank. A much BIGGER tank! Lol

Yeah, this 250 was the compromise for me moving everything out of the house.... I have no more room! LOL

I have everything lined back up on this tank, water is testing well, no nitrates but still browned a monti cap I tested. I am guessing the phosphate is still pretty high even though its only testing at .05. My bet is its much higher. I am planning another cleaning this weekend, I emptied the sump and vacuumed it completely last week and cleaned the sand bed but it still needs some more work. Couple more large water changes should change the water chemistry a lot and things should swing back in my favor. Hopefully this next shipment will get the red worms in check, kenya trees are out, fuge is doubling the cheato ball ever week and I hope by even starting this thread I can keep my hopes up that I can put this thing back together. This tank never was a problem and grew SPS like crazy before. I hope I can get it back to what it was before.
