morning all,

So over the past 2 weeks I’ve noticed a big outbreak of white fuzz in my rocks and back of the glass.

I’ve searched around online and found that a few people have experienced this. Some say it’s algae, some say it’s bacterial or fungus. But when anyone asks “what was it?” “Did you get rid of it” etc. No one responds...

My water parameters are:

Size: 200L + 75l sump
Ph: 8.2
Ammonia:0
Nitrite: 0
Nitrate: 0
Phosphate 0:10
Salinity 1.026
Alkalinity: 8
Calcium: 480
Magnesium: 1280

just added new 150 grow light to my refugium as was using a 30w hipargero LED.

I dose NoPox - 1ml a day
Running Rowaphos and activated carbon.
Using Anti-Phos from NTLabs atm to quickly reduce the phosphates.

I’m running 2x 135w LEDs - Mars Aqua on main display.

I’ve run chemiclean and it didn’t touch it. My conch and snails don’t touch it. Hermits occasionally have a nibble.

All corals apart from my birds nest are fine. Sps has gone really pale.

It blasts off easy with turkey baster. Have scrubbed with toothbrush and 10 mins later it’s back.

Driving me mad. I don’t have the option to remove rock and do a peroxide dip. Rocks are too glued together to break down and remove.

If it’s algae... hopefully chaeto will start to grow more with the new light and it disappear.

If it’s bacterial or fungal what can I try to get rid of this?

Recently my partner was attached by an Asian hornet in our lounge and sprayed a lot of air freshener to kill it.... thinking that may be the cause? - about 4 weeks ago.

All fish, softies, lps and inverts are fine.

Thanks in advance.
