hey guys I got a couple viparspectras that I would really like to be able to set a ramp schedule. I don’t have enough programming experience to do it. Was looking and found this

https://reefledlights.com/shop/storm-controller/

Since technically I only have 4 strings of lights. 2 blue strings and 2 white strings could I use this?

Would I have to change drivers to something different to use it? I could do that.

Do you guys know of anything else out there?

I'm not certain that this is for a "Black Box" per se. Looking at the manual, it appears it supports only the LED's they are selling.

Actually since the black boxes use 0-10v dimming you could use the storm

I believe it does 0-10v

You would basically remove the knobs and put in a jack.

Sounds simplistic but it might work. I would have to see the inside of the viparspecrra to know.

I’m not sure if my boxes I have use the 0-10v or a pwm. I think it is pwm.

The picture I’ve included is the inside of one of my units with the cover for one of the drivers off. The other looks exactly the same

It’s a controller that outputs a signal. As long as you have the drivers that support this kind of control signal it will work. Has nothing to do with specific leds.

Pretty sure the Vipars are pwm. At least that’s the answer I found when I was trying to dim them with Apex (can’t).

Hmm so I would have to get 0-10v to a 5v pwm signal. Shouldn’t be too hard prolly something you could buy already made. I will have to look

Have you looked around at Steve's LEDs?
Check out the HurricanX and the 10vpwm converter

This would actually be a plug and play solution for me. Other thang figuring out how to mount it where it wouldn’t look wierd. Fantastic thank you very much.
