Hello. So currently I have a aquaclear 40 made into a refugium (that my chaeto keeps dying) and a small aquaclear 20 hob. I’ve yet to find a balance in keeping my tank parameters and algae within range. From dinos to gha it feels like a constant battle. Doesn’t help when the chaeto gets mugged in gha and dies off either

Do you have a skimmer? Are you using Tap or RO water? What are the parms at now? Seasoned live rock or dry?
No skimmer just 2 hob filters. I was using distilled water but since Covid I’ve been using rodi water from my rodi buddy and the ppm in that is 8 per a meter. Seasoned live rock. Tanks been up for a year with reef and 2 years with clowns and cuc
