plenty of space to hide. I will sup feed if it doesn't get any food. Could It go after other tank mates? (sexies and pom poms are my smallest). The other fish in the tank are small and docile.

EDIT: it would be added once the tank is more mature, 6-8 months maybe depending on how it goes

If you directly feed it from the start, you should be fine. It'll leave them alone unless starving, so don't starve it.

Will it eat during the day if it gets used to feeding times? Should I drop some food by it, or should I just leave a bit at night

It should start to reach out for food when you feed the other critters, as it'll smell something edible. Then you can use tongs to hand it a chunk of food.

Be sure to give it a big piece of food, too, not just a single mysis or something. A hunk of shrimp meat or a piece of a cube still frozen together would be good.

Yep I feed mine a pretty good sized piece of table shrimp every few days. You can actually see the piece inside the stars body once its eaten it..
