Ok got back after a week gone on vacation. Fish and coral good. But in my perpetration to leave I decided to fill my biopellet reactor a little.
Well I didn't plug it back up. Duhhhhh
So I have a diatom outbreak like you wouldn't believe.
So what do I do?
I'm outta biopellets.
I know I don't need to plug it up right now.
Your help and advice would be greatly appreciated

First thing is take the reactor and dump all the water out, Then Clean and Rinse the Pellets until you feel they are clean and reuse them. Your Tank will recover but the pellets will need to reactivate with Bacteria again, Maybe some MB7 or other strains will help speed the process up but 3-4 weeks B4 they are viable again. JMO

Been there done that. Took a day and a half to get that smell out. I got blamed for some serious gas. Lol

I didn't even know that taking a biopellet reactor would cause diatom problems until your post. That explains why I have it growing on glass, rock, and sand. Plus I didn't know you could just rinse them and reuse. I threw my away and just put mine back online last week. See learn something new every day. Lol
