I know my display has bubble b/c I need to top off the return section but I feel like I have to do it every day which is more than normal.

I have a trigger sump, does anyone have this issue, is there a way to move more water through the sump.

Try to raise the water level in your return section. Also invest in a ato container and ato system. Water evaporation is inevitable and with the size of your system you will see more of it.

Nailed it! I was going to say the exact same. Curious to know why he didn't know that with a tank that big?

Two reasons only.
1 pump not deep enough.
2 a improperly sealed fitting, sucking air as a Venturi. ( unions are a good place it happens.)

So did you just set this tank up? Looking closer at some of the life in your tank, you need to reposition things. Find out the right place to put corals with flow and distance from lighting etc. Just a suggestion, it should evaluate depending on lighting half gallon or more a day

Looks like you have the same sump as I do. Before I installed my ATO, I was replacing over a gallon per day in my 125. I'm lucky in that I can use a brute trash can as a reservoir in the shop behind the wall where my tank is positioned, so I don't have to fill the reservoir all of the time. I would definitely use the biggest reservoir that space will allow. Also, it looks like your return pump is moving plenty of water. I have my return nozzles angled slightly upward for good surface agitation and rely on 5 power heads on wave makers for flow. I keep the level in the return section about an inch above the filter between the baffles. it really doesn't raise the level in the fuge section at all. Hope this helps.

I know i need an ato. I havent had the funds to go and get one yet. The point was my previous tank did not require this amount of top off and it seems that the tank is requiring more and more which is why i asked. Thanks for your in put.

The tank is a year old andI'm still working out some kinks. Placement of coral has been a small issue if you could help or suggest where i should place some that would be great.

There is no "normal" when it comes to the frequency in which we top off our tanks. The rate of evaporation is effected by so many variables, including the room's temperature and humidity.

I have forced air heat. In the winter months, it drives down humidity, causing me to top off 1.5-2 gallons daily. In the summer, with higher humidity levels, that number drops to .5-1 gallon per day.

I completely agree with the Auto Top Off recommendation.
