Hey all,

Im having an issue with my new loc-line for my return pump. We recently installed new segments of loc-line and now when we run the pump for water return we have a ton of bubbles shooting out through the end of the loc-line nozzle. At first I believed that the line was taking in air from the section where you thread the loc-line to the PVC so I took it apart and used Teflon tape to get a better seal but we're still having the same bubble issue. The return pump is a Jecod/Jebao DCT Marine Controllable Water Pump 8000, and is running submerged in the sump. We have the output speed around 50% of the maximum. If anyone has any suggestions on how to solve this issue please let me know.

Thank you for your time,

Have you turned it down to see if they still happen? Sometimes you'll start a "whirlpool" from your return and not notice it.

I havent turned it down too much but I will give it a try, I should mention that the baffle that the return pump is running in has an active blower in there to avoid detritus build up. Could this be a cause as well?

Possible. Maybe move it down in the water column to avoid the whirlpool. That's what it sounds like as I've never heard of loc line causing air bubbles. Usually the bubbles get in the system a different way.

Fine bubbles? Or ‘larger’ bubbles.

Fine bubbles coming out of the return are almost always either already in the water going into the intake, or being sucked in from a small opening in the plumbing before hitting the intake (if plumbed externally).

Any openings/leaks in plumbing downstream of the intake of the pump will result in dripping.

i am seeing "larger" bubbles actually and they are very constant
