Return line screen top question

My return line has to go over the rim of the tank how to I get this to work with a screen top?

Good thing is, water can pass through the screen.

Maybe get a piece of material, vinyl, canvas, something firm. Glue it to the mesh screen and then cut a hole into it where the return line can fit through. This way the material keeps the mesh from dethreading and you get a neat return sized hole.

Sounds logical in the head. Lol

If you use the Red Sea screen kit you can get extra pieces to create a cut out around your return.
