OK since I don't wanna drill more holes in bottom of my 240g acrylic tank. I decide to run PVC pipes on bottom, and cover with sand.

Something like this shown bottom

but mines will be sticking straight up. So how should I drill these holes into this cap??? Any suggestions???

should I drill holes on the sides too??? All around the cap??

Running a eheim compact 5000 for return line

I used a dremel to cut a slit in the cap at an angle. Then heated it up and opened it as needed for flow

Curious, why not just use a 1" strainer with a PVC coupler for easy removal and cleaning?

I should have asked if this was the dain or is it the return?

It was for my return line. But changed it for a closed loop system now

If it's a closed loop, I'd leave them uncap or install loc-line to better direct the flow in the direction you want it. You can also cap the lock-line with flare nozzles to give you a better spread.
