Return line

Whenever I switch off my return pump(irrespective of length of time) I get a blast of crap back into DT when switching back on again .
Pump was stripped and cleaned recently and return line replaced .
Takes 24 hrs or so to clear the snowstorm . Any ideas ??

do you have detritus in the return area that is getting stirred up from the back flow when the pump goes off?

Not massively. Try to stay on top of it when doing water changes
