I was doing a little bit of pruning and maintenance in the tank today and noticed this — see pic.

Long story short I’d been noticing over the past wk that the amount of surface agitation at the top of the tank is lower than what it usually is, and have seen momentary bursts of micro bubbles come from the return nozzle a few times, so I just made a mental note to get in there and pull out the pump for cleaning next time I have enough free time.

Then I saw this piece in the tank pushed forward like that. Realize I still need to get in there and check it out from the sump. But just wondering if anyone else has had this happen before? It is broken or likely an easy fix? I tried popping it back in while I had my hands in the tank but couldn’t push it back in.

Hi Lyss,
Is your tank an AIO? Does the bulkhead the return is plumbed through have a nut on the backside? It appears you would just need to loosen things up a bit and re-seat the flange side of the bulkhead flat against the inside surface then tighten the nut to keep it in place.

That what I was thinking/hoping to hear!

Yes, it’s an AIO. No idea how that happened but I’ll set aside some time to get in there and fix it, and clean the pump and the sump while I’m at it.

It does look like an easy fix but I’m not familiar with how the AIO’s are built.
Best of luck!
