Hi I got my 4400 lph return pump today , the outside measurement is 1" would I match this with a 1" return pipe even though the inside diameter of the pump output is marginally smaller like 1/16th smaller than 1" ( not sure what that equals as I work in metric)
Or go down to 3/4 inch
  • Thanks mark

Using the full 1" diameter will preserve more of the flow. You can reduce down to 3/4 or 1/2 inch nozzles once you reach the tank return inlets. Going down to a smaller diameter at the pump outlet will reduce overall flow to the tank.

Larger diameter pipes will almost always give you more flow. I never reduce below native on any pump unless absolutely unavoidable.
