Hello all.

Almost finished with my return plumbing. Put in a few Ts for additional filtration in the future and a water changing T w/ a cable. Hope it works out.

Anyways, my main concern is the check valve that I bought (pictures below) it looks like the passage way might hinder my flow rate due to the openings being to small. I assume the ball will be pushed all the way up during normal operation unless I'm wrong. Does anyone have experience with this check valve type? If so please let me know before I cement this part on.

Hear are the picture of what I'm talking about and my setup.

Please let me know if you see anything wrong.

Thanks.

You definitely do not want this check valve on the overflow drain. Other than that, I think it looks ok.

Also I know my setup looks like the return and intake are in the same chamber but they are not. I have chambers in the rear of my sump that I made from an AIO tank. Been working out solid so far for a month.

You may want to add a globe or gate valve on the return side to allow you to balance the return/drain and help reduce gurgling noises.
I would put it up stream of your water change valve so you only need to adjust it once and not after each water change.
