Return Pump for 75 Gallon Display

If/when a controller dies, do pumps usually continue to run at the last know setting? Did your pump stop working?
Yes, the pump didn't run.
The controller takes the 24vdc and supplies it to the pump, perhaps reduced, to lower the speed.
If the controller doesn't work, the pump doesn't spin.

This is the 1900. My return section is 5 in but you can see alot of extra space

I have a current 1900 on my 120g. Silent and works for the price. I also only have 3.5 inches for return pump. Built for the current usa. Only pumps I found that fit is the current usa, hydor seltz, and reefbreeders/coralbox. I got my controller wet and almost got the coral box but decided on another current usa so I have a backup now. But check reefbreeders. Great customer service. 1yr warranty and 800gph only 89$. You can buy 2 for backup for just over 160$

Good morning R2R,

I currently have a Rio 2100 that is rated at 410 GPH that travels 45 inches to the display tank. The pump is about 5 years old and is becoming noisy. Was looking at Hydor - Seltz D750 DC Controllable Pump and the Sicce pumps but see not so good reviews. I have a 75 Gallon display and 20 gallon sump. Also have a limit of $160 I see pumps can get into the thousands. Also width needs to be under 3.5 inches.

What is everyone else using for their sub 100 gallon systems?
I have a extra pump still in box never used ,, PM me, maybe if it’s right size I’ll send it to you. The pump is free to my reef peeps just pay postage,, up to you I’m in Jersey

Do you think i have enough space to squeeze in a Varios4? Varios4 has a width of 3.8". Need to avoid touching the glass so there is no vibration.

Hey a little tip,, I would put filter media between those two baffles ,, it catches any detris particles or left over food n such, makes difference in water column in main display
