This is a new tank build , non reef ready . . Going to be ESOPs 800 single overflow. Trying to decide on Jeabo pump DC ?
Or DCT? 6000 .
this is going to be fish only tank with some soft corals
Possible upgrade to a 125

You really need to ask yourself 2 questions. How much flow do you want through your sump and how much room to increase it do you want. The "older school" method called for running 10x tank volume through your sump. The "newer school" method calls for as little as 2x tank volume. Personally, I like 3x-5x tank volume so I probably need to go back to school.

Once you figure this out, then you need to decide if you want to be able to have extra capacity to run things like reactors off your return pump or if you would rather run them on a separate pump.

With this information, it is fairly simple to calculate your piping and head pressure losses to get the pump that will be best for your system.

Thank you for that information, I'm also wondering about the difference between the two pumps themselves?

My understanding is that the Jaebo pumps are the previous generation of Waveline pumps. When Waveline came up with their newer model they licensed out their original DC design to several companies, Jaebo being one of them.

DC is older version DCT is the new generation and supposedly much more electricity efficient

I'd go for the DCT because it's the newest of models. It certainly isn't clear from looking at the info on DC versus DCT that their is electrical efficiency, but that's what they are claiming. Again, DCT.

As far as flow, the 6000 is way more than enough. I have the Waveline 6000 on my 90DT. But I'd still go for the 6000 for two reasons......it's controllable and I'd prefer not running pumps close to maximum....and two, you're thinking about upgrading. Go for the 6000....DCT!
