I was wrong there is a little hole up there already.

Here's inside. Drain on left and return on right.


And from the top of the overflow

I would put a piece of airline tubing in the pipe,I also see you can put that laser ATO in front for your fresh water to keep sump constant
On My 60g. I used a DC 3000 pump I had to slow the water flow down a bit to let Drain pipe catch up and then way able to pump it up when the siphon git right

I have a piece of a straw in the hole on top but it doesn't go all the way down. Does it need to?

try putting it down a little further and try restricting the air flow a little with you finger

Yeah I had a little bit of a siphon effect when I first filled it up. I made the hole on top a little bit bigger and stuck a little piece of straw in there and that seemed to fix it.

Cool that is great I had same problems when I started my cube. I would add a reactor now and if I was doing it again reef mature pro,miracle mud,skimmer,lights on in 2 weeks,test parameters weekly and. Start running Corvallis bio pellets run heater between 78-80, I run mine at 79 start getting use to maintaining alk between 8-10
The more stable u get your system right now the better
