I’m looking to buy a new large tank (96”w x 30”d x 28”t) approx. 350 gallons. The returns on the tank will allow up to 4800 gph.
Between plumbing length and fittings I’m guessing there’s going to be about 10ft of head pressure, I’m looking for 8-10 time turn over rate.
I would prefer a dc pump for control and power consumption, I just don’t know what the best options are, I like the abyzz pumps but they are huge $$$.
Recommendations???

I can't speak to their quality but I plan to use the two jebao dct pumps on my new build. Atleast for the price and their wave makers have done well for me in willing to give them the chance

I have only ever used 1 pump at a time, the tank im looking at will have 4 3/4” return nozzles. I assume have both pumps side by side 2 nozzles powered by one and the other 2 powered by the other one?

You could still use one pump, it simply splits the return in 4 that's not a big deal make a manifold and split it. I like to have 2 return pumps for a couple reasons
- redundancy incase of failure one should only fail at a time hopefully.
- i can have a slower flow having 2 returns to accommodate for correct flow through chiller and uv (I know a manifold and a gate valve can do this as well though)

I used a dcp 18000 from jebao . I have my sump in the basement . I plan to put a stand by dcp 20000 . Im happy so far . I think you should see the flow rate for the the dcp 20000
Its worth the price and allows a standby at a much cheaper cost

On a tank this size if you are going the cheap route I would run two of them (Jebao), or one good one (Red Dragon). Return pump is not something you want failing.

I run a reeflo barracuda i believe, Maxpect is coming out with a tk-12 Its the bigger of the tk-9 that you can find some videos of from macna 17. Im going to get 2x tk-12 probably or 1 abysz.

The reeflo is good have had to rebuild the seal once, Kind of loud only pulls 280W 14ft head pressure from the basement - Looking for silence! Low power.

If I ever drain my tank im pulling out the returns at the top and add more and using one of those dc pump and would love to use that for my wave maker 4 less things to clean!
