Since I bought my aquarium off of a neighbor I don't know how old the return pump is and if it has ever been cleaned. I plan on taking it out tomorrow and cleaning it since tomorrow is my WC day. Does anyone have any recommendations on how to clean it. TIA ;);)

Oh I forgot it's submersible and fits behind the tank. I think its a Rio but I don't know what size. A new return is next on my to buy (Dubbbaaaiii wassss liiiittttt) list.

Lol could you snap a pic of it? Some returns have different ways to take it apart.

Awesome, if it is indeed a rio, there pretty simple to clean. You could also leave it running in some vinegar in the meantime to break down some of the crusty stuff
